Garden Expressions can plan and manage your project from conception to completion with a hands-on approach and in-depth knowledge of the landscape construction process.
Initial Consultation
An on-site meeting will enable us to gather information about your vision and ideas, as well as ‘getting a feel' for the site. In most cases we can begin to formulate ideas that will later form the basis of the concept plan. A detailed fee proposal for further design work will be sent immediately after this visit.
Conceptual Design & Master Planning
We now proceed with a detailed survey and analysis of the site. Concept drawings are prepared to scale as well as some budgetary guidelines, which form the basis of further discussion with the client and any other consultants involved in the project. The approved concept will then be developed further into a Master Plan, which will show the overall designed layout of the garden and include details of materials and finishes for the hard and soft landscaping elements.
Construction Drawings
Depending on the complexity of the plan, further detailing may be required for some of the hard landscaping elements of the design.
Project Management
We can arrange for detailed quotations from competent builders and landscape contractors. We will brief the contractor, interpret design intentions and liaise with the contractors and any consultants involved throughout the construction process. Integral to our design work are innovative planting schemes. The skilful use of plant material makes a significant contribution to the success of a project. We therefore prefer to source all plants ourselves and set them out on site ready for the contractor to plant. This ensures that design intentions are not compromised and we can also make those important last minute adjustments to achieve the perfect result.
